The role for innovation in co-creation

Innovation is central to staying ahead in today’s food & beverage industry. That’s why “innovating to new heights” is a central pillar to Cargill’s Food Solutions, as we work together with you, our customers, on shaping tomorrow’s on-trend product winners.

We spoke to Niels Boetje, President Health & Nutrition, on how we are helping our customers stay ahead of the curve.

Innovation can take many forms…

It can involve partnering with external innovators, including universities, start-ups and smaller players. For example, Cargill recently announced our partnership with Voyage Foods to scale up alternatives to cocoa-based products to meet consumers’ indulgence needs.

It can be category driven. We’ve been active in supplying the specialized nutrition sector for over 40 years but are now actively partnering with our customers under a new Cargill’s Specialized Nutrition portfolio. Under the tagline “nourishing across life stages,” we debuted this new approach at Vitafoods Europe 2024 in Geneva last month.

It can also be reformulation driven. For example, coatings & fillings can serve as a cost-effective solution during times of high cocoa prices for both full and partial replacement.
