Cargill has been active in the Netherlands since 1959, and, following the recent acquisition of Degussa’s food ingredients business, has approximately 2,500 employees at sites in multiple locations in the country – Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Bergen Op Zoom, Denekamp, Deventer, Naarden, Rotterdam (Botlek), Sas Van Gent, Schiedam, Swalmen, Uden, Wormer and Zaandam.Cargill has activities in the following areas in the Netherlands:
• grain and oilseed trading • oilseed crushing, refining and hardening • malt production • poultry • juice and beverage formulation and production • transport and logistics |
• industrial chocolate • production and sales of glucose, starch and starch derivatives • food and feed ingredients sales sugar trading • specialty food ingredients including flavours and texturisers |
2006 – Cargill acquired Degussa’s food ingredients site in Zaandam.
2005 – Cargill announced significant investments at its Botlek facility to boost the production capacity of liquid and tropical oils.
2005 – Cargill acquired Seara, including its Dutch site in Amstelveen.
2002 – Cargill acquired Cerestar a leading provider of starch and starch derivatives - the largest acquisition in Cargill's history. This acquisition includes Cerestar's plant in Sas Van Gent.
