Cargill has been active in Mexico since 1967. Following the recent acquisition of Degussa’s food ingredients business, Cargill employs approximately 2,000 people in 16 locations across the country: Mexico City, Veracruz, Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Yucatán, Sonora, Nuevo León, Jalisco, Puebla, Sinaloa, and the State of Mexico.

Cargill Investments in Mexico
• 2006 – Cargill acquired Degussa Food Ingredients, including its México’s business.
• 2005 – Cargill built white corn flour plant in Tula.
• 2005 - Cargill entered Cargill Meat business in Mexico.
• 2003 – Cargill acquired San Rafael, Sinaloa grain elevator.
• 2003 - Cargill formed Sugar’ JV ZUCARMEX.
• 2003 – Cargill acquired the government concession (license) of the Veracruz Grain Terminal.
• 2002 – Cargill formed durum wheat’ JV PROAOASS.
• Cargill de Mexico acquired Agribrands Productos Salud Animal, SA de CV (Agribrands International, Inc, mexican business/entity), including animal feed JV “Proveedora de Alimentos Avepecuarios, SA de CV.”
• 1994 – Cargill acquired Tula oil and crushing Plant (Atitalaquia)
• 1994 – Cargill de Mexico formed animal feed JV Nutrimentos Agropecuarios Cargill, SA de CV (now Nutrimentos Agropecuarios Purina, SA de CV)
• 1972 – Cargill opened it first office
• 1967 – Cargill started in Mexico through an external agent (grain business).
